This weekend we celebrated The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. The Queen has been on the throne for 60 years and man did she throw a party to celebrate – she even gave us an extra 2 days off work. What a diamond!
So how did we celebrate; Pimms, tea & cake, standing in the rain, a crackin’ boat party and Let Me Entertain You by Robbie Williams being blasted out down The Mall. It could not have been better.
In the last 60 years The Queen has seen so much change, from The Beetles to LMAFO and the first man in space to the mobile phone. I can’t imagine seeing all that change. Sometimes I get so freaked out by change but it’s so true what they write on the mugs and gift cards in Oliver Bonas – Keep Calm And Carry On, old Lizzie did and to be honest I think it’s a good old motto to stick by.
So, as we end the celebration I am proud to be British, in awe of a woman who has given her life to serve the country of Britain and ready for the Olympics. Any excuse to dress up in more red, white and blue and wave the Union Jack and I’m there! God Save The Queen !
